The U.S. Mission in Niamey, Niger is seeking eligible and qualified applicant for the position of chauffeur in the General Services Office (GSO).
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Basic functions of this position are to perform routine driving as directed by the Motor Pool Dispatcher or American Supervisor of U.S. government owned passenger vehicles for the American Embassy located in Niamey,

4. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must possess a valid local driver’s license, a safe driving record, and understand operation and controls of the appropriate vehicle being operated. A driving test will be given
5. JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must know local/regional traffic laws and be familiar with area traffic patterns. Must be familiar with proper motor vehicle maintenance such as how to check fluid levels, tire pressures, and safety checks.

If claiming conditional eligibility for U.S. Veterans’ preference, applicants must submit proof of conditional eligibility. If the written documentation confirming eligibility is not received in the HR office by the closing date of the vacancy announcement, the U.S. Veterans’ preference will not be considered in the application process. Mission HR’s decision on eligibility for U.S. Veterans’ preference after reviewing all required documentation is final.
** This level of preference applies to all Foreign Service employees on LWOP.
